We transformed this early 1900’s dutch colonial kitchen by streamlining the kitchen layout for optimal storage and light. Working within the existing kitchen footprint and window layout we relocated the fridge and range for a better work triangle. A wall of full height storage lines one side of the kitchen creating a thickened opening which is balanced by an open and airy wrap of lower cabinets at the exterior walls. An arched wall frames a built-in corner banquette which also provides the guardrail for the basement stair. Adored by both clients, pink tones were brought into the palette early in the design process and paired with floral moments to connect with the garden beyond.
